2011 IN REVIEW: TOP 10 FEMALE FOREIGN ARTISTS

1. Katy Perry (Last Year: 3)

Katy Perry continued from where she left on 2010. Her album continued banging the charts and her hits just kept on coming. Her tour also started and was worldwide success. Who could forget the tunes "Last Friday Night", "E.T.", "Firework" and "The One Who Got Away"? They were all big hits and Katy even set a record in billboard being the first female to have 5 #1s from one album. And did I mention she released her own perfume line "Purr"?

2. Adele (New Entry)

Adele made herself felt in 2011 with her wonderfully crafted album "21". Her hits were all over the radio and music channels. Who does not know the songs "Someone Like You", Rumuor Has It" and of course "Rolling In The Deep" which has spawned several versions already.

3. Rihanna (Last Year: 1)

Rihanna was certainly on the scene for 2011. Aside from making great music, she was everywhere with rumored dates with Usher up to some news that she is burnt out of her work. Never mind all of that as she can still rock our world. "We Found Love" was one of her best pieces in 2011.

4. Beyonce (Last Year: 6)

The biggest and happiest year for Beyonce was 2011 as she announced to the whole world that she and Jay-Z are having a baby. Aside from that her latest album stormed the world and she did fuel a revolution with her single "Run The World". Beyonce also did astound us with her powerful ballads "1+1" and "Best Thing I Never Had".

5. Jennifer Lopez (New Entry)

J.Lo is definitely back. After a failed contract deal in 2010, she made herself felt once more signing up as a judge in the American Idol together with Steven Tyler. A lot of controversies from the start but she has proven to be a good addition to the show. AS for her music, she just played it hot with "On The Floor", "I'm Into You" and "Papi".

6. Jessie J (New Entry)

I first heard of Jessie J on the soundtrack of Step Up 3 where she belted the ballad "Who You Are". But it wasn't until she released her upbeat "Price Tag" that she rose to the radars of every people in the world. Truly one of the best voices I have ever heard.

7. Lady Gaga (Last Year: 2)

Gaga's 2011 may have not been as hot as her 2010 but still she continued to challenge the music norms in terms of fashion and video making. Her songs "The Edge of Glory" and "You and I" continued her flare but she surprised a lot with her duet with Tony Bennett "The Lady Is A Tramp".

8. Pink (Last Year: 9)

Pink has one of the best releases in 2011, "F**kin Perfect" making it her bigest hit so far in the US. She continued her tour as well and plans to release a new album in 2012.

9. Avril Lavigne (New Entry)

Avril graced the Philippine shores in 2011 together with new music under her belt. Fans were thrilled to hear new materials from her such as "Smile" and "Wish You Were Here".

10. Nicki Minaj (Last Year: 7)

Rapper Nicki Minaj continues burning the dance charts in 2011. Her collaboarations "2012" with Jay Sean and "Fly" with Rihanna were among the good hits she had in the past year. But of course no one could forget her infectious tune "Super Bass" which comes with a very sexy video to boot.
