And yes, we will be treated to another see-saw on our electric bills. Bills for August will reportedly be higher once again due to the rehabilitation being done to the San Jose power plant. The charges are currently being incurred this July and will be reflected in the August bills. But while MERALCO has announced this, MalacaƱang is quick to defend that this is only temporary while the rehabilitation is being done. The palace through Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda reiterated that the electric bills will go down once again by September.
On Friday, Meralco has announced to its local consumers that their August electric bills to go up. The generation rate increase in July will be reflected on consumers’ August bills. This is the second highest in terms of generation bills for 2010, April being the highest.
