Swiss great Roger Federer once more proved that he might really be the best tennis player there is. He went on to his 8th Wimbledon final seeking a lot of records along the way. And only one man stood on his way - Andy Murray who was himself eyeing for a record and that is to break Britain's 76 year drought of a singles trophy.
But it was Federer who took the Championships in 4 sets setting several records along the way. He tied Pete Sampras' record of 7 Championship titles and also Pistol Pete's record of 286 weeks at No. 1 which he will surely eclipse as he returns to the top of the men's game after a long while. Aside from that he broke his own record by taking his 17th major title. Truly a class act of his own.
