OPM is turning into a resurgence in 2018 and it seems to continue its trend this year. The past year saw several singers rake in great performances and commercial success in sales, concerts and other platforms. Here are 2018's best of the best.
1. Juan Karlos

Juan Karlos or JK as we all know him by now has grown up to be a fine young man and his 2018 was such a success. His song "Buwan" that kept the airwaves for months and we are not complaining coz it was such a great song.
2. Darren Espanto
Last Year: 3
Darren is one of the more talented young singers of this generation. With his high pitch vocals that makes people in awe, Darren successfully carved his niche in the biz. His pop/R&B feels single "Poison" is one of the best in 2018.
3. Inigo Pascual
Last Year: 1
Inigo remains to reinvigorate the OPM landscape. In 2018, he traded his traditional pop/dance genre to a much more mature R&B feels and heart-felt singles. His "Lumang Tugtugin" single made us wanna hear more of him.
4. Sam Mangubat
Last Year: 11
Sam has continued his steady ascend in the local music industry. His 2018 was highlighted by his well received song "Pagkat Nar'yan Ka" which became an instant hit with his fans.
5. Daryl Ong
Last Year: 2
Daryl Ong is certainly my most favorite R&B OPM singer and he has remained to be one of the artists with a strong social media following. His covers are well-loved by everyone and we still can't get enough of his English version of "Beautiful" for Goblin koreanovela.
6. James Reid
Last Year: 4
James Reid surely is a head-turner in anything he does. This talented actor-dancer-musician and producer continues to deliver singles with international vibes and in 2018 he released "Still There" and "The Life".
7. Jay-R
Last Year: 24
When we talk of Philippine R&B, then the list would not be complete without mentioning Jay-R and he surely makes himself busy with several concerts and appearances in TV.
8. Daniel Padilla
Last Year: 7
What more can we say about Daniel Padilla? He is a well established TV and movie actor, a commercial model and also a very well received singer to boot and he has no signs of slowing down.
9. Erik Santos
Last Year: 9
Balladeer Erik Santos continues to be one of the most sought after singers in the country.
10. John Roa
Last Year: N/A
"Taguan" surely did the trick with John Roa as he became an instant music star. Used to be relatively unknown, he is now very well known and has made tons of followers and fans already.
11. Quest

Quest is one of the talented rap artists of the country and has made a solid following in the social media landscape.
12. Sam Concepcion

I think one of the most underrated singer in the country, Sam Concepcion is a bundle of talent. He has released great singles, appears in some movies and TV shows and also does theater. Here's hoping he gets more as he truly deserves it.
13. Bugoy Drilon

Bugoy Drilon is one talented individual and has delivered some heart-felt ballads and covers that Filipinos love.

You may know Quest as the lead for IV of Spades and with an enormous talent like that there is no doubt why Filipinos love him.

This solo pop indie rock artist made everyone notice with such a compelling and highly successful song "Sana" in 2018.

There is no more introduction needed for Ogie Alcasid. This talented musician/singer is highly successful and Filipinos have his name fully etched in their hearts.
17. Kyle Echarri

This young Filipino-American talent first bursted into the music scene with The Voice Kids Season 2. And his song "Pangako" in 2018 surely showed how talented he is.
18. Nyoy Volante
Last Year: N/A
If versatility is one measure of greatness then Nyoy could be one of the few on top. He can easily juggle from music genre one after the other with such greatness and he remains to be one of the best in the industry.
19. Shanti Dope

Shanti Dope is one of the more famous rappers in the country. His 2018 single "Nadarang" is one of more well streamed songs in the past year.
20. Jayson Dy

Jayson Dy keeps himself busy in the past year and this beloved singer keeps on carving his way into the music landscape of the country.
