OPM Songs also lorded over the charts from 2017 and here are some of the highly listened and praised songs of the past year.

1. Malaya - Moira Dela Torre
2017 is indeed a banner year for Moira as every time she releases a new material she turns it into a golden hit. But of all her 2017 songs, Malaya stood out as her introduction to the OPM music and her haunting and unique voice makes you listen and want for more. Moira is one of the new gems of this music industry and we are eager for more on her.

2. Dahil Sa 'Yo - Inigo Pascual
Like father like son, Inigo takes all Piolo's roots and makes it even more. With a pop and current sound with his music, Inigo stands out from the rest of the competition. And while he is good in singing he is also a talented dancer and makes every performance his best. This song became one of my listening pleasures from 2017.

3. Two Less Lonely People In The World - KZ Tandingan
KZ's rendition is so great that this became an instant hit for Filipinos. And the hype was even added as this is the theme song of the highly successful movie "Kita Kita". KZ makes this song her own and one time or more, I have sang along this tune. Heartfelt and very emotional, this song touched the innermost portions of one's heart.

4. Maghihintay Ako - Jona
Jona is a known singer even way back when she was in GMA. But her career started to go to unknown heights once she moved to the Kapamilya network. This song capture everything she is and she has. Her strong vocal chops was showcased in this emotional number which became one of the tear-jerker songs we loved in 2017.

SUD became a huge hit with this wonderful masterpiece. Sila touches hearts and is one of the highly streamed songs of the past year. The lyrics are simple but very relatable and the way it was sung was pure and makes you appreciate the beauty of love and all.

6. Cool Down - James Reid
James is full of soul and great vibe. And with Cool Down he shows how talented he is as a singer. The depth in the message of the song is highly commendable. James not only makes commercial songs but also ones with great meaning and value. Cool Down is an expression of love in all its facets.

7. Sundo - Moira Dela Torre
Moira never fails to impress and Sundo is another one of her endless array of great songs. Her voice is so beautiful and it makes you feel the deepest of messages with her every words. As sad as it may be, it is sure that we listened and loved "Sundo". This is an innocent song that shows how love is without sugar coating.

8. Alon - Hale
Hale is back with a big bang. They brought us Alon which is a welcome gift to all their fans. Alon is a bittersweet love song but every one is surely able to relate to this tune. Hale makes each lyric their own and makes you wanna experience the beauty of love despite the possible heartaches.

9. Hanngang Kailan - Michael Pangilinan
Yeah, Michael is both handsome and sexy but what makes people love him by much is his ability to connect with people through his songs. He is great story teller and with his eyes looking straight to you, one feels it thrust to the innermost of hearts and that every word is seen as sincere and full of truth. Hanggang Kailan is a gem from 2017 which is a must listen.

10. Unli - Boyband PH
Fresh from winning in the reality show from ABS-CBN, these five handsome and equally talented guys joined together and makes up Boyband PH. 2017 saw their meteoric rise to fame and this song is their first major hit. Unli was simple, catchy and easy to the ears and the guys just delivered all the chills and thrills to their adoring fans.

11. If We Fall In Love - McLisse
McCoy De Leon and Elise Joson are products of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother. And even after going out of the house, the two began to sing good music together. Their love team seems to be going on all right directions and their hit "If We Fall In Love" became regular tunes on the radio.

12. Turning Up - James Reid
And here is another wonderful song from James Reid. Backed up with a great video, this song focuses more on youth and some of the choices they make. James again shows his singing chops and with a stellar cast on the video including Sam Concepcion, Bret Jackson and Nadine Lustre this could not do anything wrong.

13. Till The End of Time - Jona and BoyBand PH
Jona shows she can slay any kind of song and with this English ballad, she continues to impress. Till The End of Time shows us Jona at her best and like me a lot of people could not help but rape the replay button on this one. With her strong vocals, she was able to blend in with the good voices of the hottest guys out there - BoyBand PH.

14. Titibo-Tibo - Moira Dela Torre
Another one and yes this is equally impressive. While this is not the usual slow haunting love anthem from Moira, this certainly packs the punch. With a nice beat to it, this song veers away from usual putting focus on a different kind of love but still delivering the message across.

15. Somebody - Boyband PH
And yes the guys can certainly hit is with a ballad. Somebody shows their versatility and vocal talent. The rendition was made as simple but heartfelt and Boyband PH simply hit the mark. Not much drama or frills, this song puts oomph on the simplicity and relying on the band's voice.
