BRIDAL SHOWER SHOW AT 1 ESPLANADE

Few weeks back, One Esplanade became host to a bridal shower show that features some of the metro's hot models. The men really turned on the heat as they parade in various pieces suited for bridal showers ranging from pants, sandos, briefs and boxers.

The show did have some really steaming hot numbers as the guys playfully toyed with the audience. Notables on the Fashion Show were Kerwin Caballero who was blazing hot, Charles Ghareh, Ericzon Yee and a whole lot more. I don't know the names of some of the models. Here's a look of some of the pics.

THE LITTLE BIG CLUB LIVE IN CONCERT

December is just a stone's throw away and we can really feel the breeze of the Holiday Season. For us Filipinos, Christmas is really something special for the kids. It is the time of the year where they get presents of all kinds especially from their ninongs and ninangs. And to bring those kids to see their favorite characters in one big concert is one wonderful gift.

See Barney, Bob The Builder, Pingu, Thomas, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam and their friends as they come to us here in Manila for a series of shows at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City from December 16-19, 2010. This event is brought to us by Vivre Fort. Tickets are available in all SM Tickets located in all SM Cinema TIcketbooths. For inquiries, call 470-2222 or 477-3510.

RP TEAM AT ASIAN GAMES 2010: FAR OFF

The Philippines ended their latest Asian campaign on a low. As China steamrolled past the competitions, Philippines limped to its worst finish in the quadrennial event landing at 19th overall and finds itself as the 5th only among the Southeast Asians.

The RP contingent ends the Asiad with 3 golds, 4 silvers and 9 bronzes. This is even worse than the 2 previous Asiads. In 2002 at South Korea, the RP team finished with 3-7-16 and in Doha (2006) grabbed 4-6-9. And Philippines seems to lose interest in the Asian Games together with the dwindling level of talent in our pool of athletes. For the first time, no local coverage of the games. I know that we might be facing the Goliaths in the event but it is still good to at least see how our Filipino athletes try to outdo themselves but apparently no one is interested in airing the games anymore.

Aside from lack of local coverage, there were lots of misses in the entire games. The 3 golds came from Bowling, Boxing and Billiards - three of the traditional sports we excel but the entire campaign of the whole team was bland. For bowling, the only additional medal was that of a bronze while for billiards, notables like Efren Reyes and Rubilen Amit failed to even land in the podium. For boxing, it was somewhat a good showing with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Taekwondo fizzled with only bronzes to show. Our tennis stars failed to nab any medals so as with our basketball team, Smart-Gilas which ended in 6th place. Centerpiece events like athletics and swimming failed to really make a mark morseo with our tankers who failed to even advance past the qualifiers.

There were some bright spots but they were few and oftentimes random. We need to get back to our grass roots program and show the rest of the Asian community that we can fight with the best once more. I know it will not come easy but for sure, it can be achieved.

LAPTOP CRASH

As you can see I have been put of blog posting in the past 2 days. Well, that can be attributed to my laptop crashing. CRASH. Yup, it crashed after for more than 2 years with me. I guess my HP mini got a bit of tired. I had it checked at Complink in Glorietta and had the OS restored and save some of the files. I got my personal pics and some of the files I need but my blogging folder was greatly affected and around only 5 % of the info and pics there were saved. It was an upsetting end to November but thankfully my mini is up and going again. As always, a hiccup like that won't stop me from doing what I love and that is writing for all your pleasures. I'm back!

ALBANIA, SALUDAR FIGHTS FOR GOLD

Annie Albania and Rey Saludar have both moved into the gold medal match in boxing of their respective categories. This came on a day where good news for the Philippine contingent were scarce. Rey's younger brother Victorio bowed in the semis giving the country another bronze and the Smart Gilas team was bundled out by a strong South Korean team in the quarterfinals of Men's Basketball.

Albania scored a thrilling 16-1 trashing of Japanese Ava Shinmoto and moves into title bout with local bet Ren Cancan. Rey Saludar on the other hand will face a Chinese, Chang Yong as well after he demolished Japanese Katsuaki Susa 13-4. It will be a tough match for both our bets as fans would be rooting for Chinese victories.

MOVIE REVIEW: MY AMNESIA GIRL

One word - funny!
"My Amnesia Girl" is definitely something that does not only tickle your funny bones but also tickles your heart. At first I was not quite sure if the tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga would be okay but after watching this, I now have no doubts. After all they are 2 good and talented thespians. But what are the strengths of this film?

I loved this film because it is a rom-com and I love romantic comedies. Aside from that this one's a real cheesy one. Nothing wrong with being cheesy but sometimes cheesiness adds to the love chemistry. Lloydie and Toni sure had chemistry. Another good thing about this movie is the choice of dialogue and punchlines. I am laughing my hearts out with some of the memorable lines which I belive has been a fixture in your daily text messages before. I never thought those cheesy lines do come up good on screen. And Nicole Hyala's song made it funnier. Cathy Garcia Molina has once again succeeded in making our hearts feel good.

It's 4 out 5 popcorns!

SMART GILAS BARGES INTO QUARTERS

My heart was pounding when 2 days back Qatar defeated Japan in the Asian Games. That is bad new for the Philippines as it required the Smart Gilas squad to have a win against dangerous Chinese Taipei which they have share of losses in the past years.

But yes, a victory it was for the RP Team. They defeated the Taiwanese 82-73 to move into the knock out quarterfinal stages against South Korea. They finished the eliminations with a 3-2 record and avoided the dreaded Chinese team in the quarters. Their 3 wins were against India, Qatar and Chinese-Taipei. They lost against Iran and narrowly defeated by Japan. Hope they can squeak a victory against South Korea although I know it would be a daunting task. Go Smart Gilas!

PHILIPPINE BLOG AWARDS: NOMINEE

Wow! Just Wow! When I first got an email from Philippine Blog Awards (PBA) about confirming my nomination, my initial reaction was - FOR REAL? I thought it was just a joke since it has been over 3 months that I have been back to blogging back then. Plus I don't know where to categorize my blog since I capture all topics since I like everything in general. And so I decided to put mine into the Personal Blog category. And then I have not heard from them after a long while until I opened my google mail once more and there was my official badge. Wow, so it is indeed true.

This is the 4th year they are doing this and for me to be a part of the list of nominees was such a wonderful pre-Christmas gift. Whoever made the nomination, all I could say is thank you. It was really appreciated and I could only assure one thing. I'll continue writing and sharing thoughts to everyone. I will let everyone see life in its entirety including its lows and of course its highs.

The Philippine Blog Awards 2010 will be held on December 12, 2010 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at RCBC Plaza, Makati City. I am happy enough to get nominated but who know with fingers crossed, a victory could really be nice. The event is brought to you by Nokia and Globe Tattoo.

THE TIE THAT BONDS: MARRIAGE NOT WEDDING

Well, for me, what is more truthful and wonderful is marriage rather than a wedding. Marriage is bounded by love, by truthfulness and respect. And I am just so happy that my sister, Rose tied the knot and was indeed a persona of happiness last November 17. I am also greatful that Ryan loves her so much and I know he will take care of my sister and her children.

If my words are not enough proof that love is really strong between them then just see how smiled filled each photo of them together. All I can hope is for them to have a good life together and share the most out of what they have. Church wedding is coming soon next year and I can't wait for that as well.

Love meets love... In their love story, I did not just see love but also genuine care, respect, trust and togetherness. For the years to come, I will be there for you both. Wishing you all the best!

RYAN REYNOLDS IS PEOPLE'S SEXIEST MAN ALIVE

Ryan Reynolds is 2010 People's Sexiest Man Alive. This is another one of the accolades Reynolds has received after bursting into the Hollywood scene. The actor who has starred on movies like "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock, "Wolverine" as Deadpool and the thriller "Buried" joins the elite cast of actors who has been named by the magazine as their hottest which includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman and Johnny Depp.

Reynolds will next be seen in the DC adaptation superhero flick "Green Lantern" in 2011. For some avid fans, you may know him as hubby to hot actress Scarlett Johansson. Here are some of his pics. Enjoy.

OBLIVIATE: IF ONLY I COULD

Yes, if only I could I would have already made this spell - to erase all memories and to make people forget.

I want to wake up one day without nothing - a true start from scratch. I am willing to give up everything just to make a brand new life - a fresh beginning. It was rather a difficult two years and somehow I am slowly losing the will to survive, the strength to carry on, the hope for a better day. I have tried my best to live anew but each day has turned into bigger challenges - sometimes unfathomable, oftentimes very difficult. A lot of people say I am strong but strength depletes. I am just a human being - prone to breakdowns, fatigue and tears. I don't wanna live another day with false hopes. It's just gonna haunt me forever. What has happened in the past 2 years? I don't know. All I know was that it continue raining down on me. My body, my mind and my soul want to give up. If only I could cast a spell, then I would.

Obliviate....

RED RIDING HOOD

When I was watching Harry Potter last week, one trailer has actually caught my attention - "Red Riding Hood". Yes, you got that right! No little on the title as this is a modern and more gothic retelling of the classic story we have all loved.

Aside from presenting it in a different angle with more darkness into it, the new love story aspect was also injected into this film. This Catherine Hardwicke film topbills Amanda Seyfried and will have a more mature feel. Also, once you see the trailer, you'll see the Twilight effect on the film specially the woods scenes and the love angle. Wolves on a different level. That idea was presented by one of the producers, Leonardo DiCaprio himself. Whoa. Now that is something. Also starring in this flick are Gary Oldman, Shiloh Fernandez and Max Irons to name a few.

Red Riding Hood will be showing on March 2011.

OH WHAT FUN: KRISPY KREME

Yes, Krispy Kreme has done is again. After their Halloween inspired doughnuts, now they are back with a new set of doughnuts specially made for the holidays.

They are now having "Oh What Fun!" as their tag kline this Holidays as they introduce their new line of doughnuts for Christmas. Flavors of the Holiday doughnuts are as follows: Snowball Doughnut, Holiday Spinkles, Gift Doughnut and Snowman Doughnut. Of the 4 I really love Holiday Spinkles the most. Truly an amazing feast again brought to us only by Krispy Kreme.

LIN DAN FINALLY GETS ASIAD GOLD

China's top badminton star, Lin Dan has finally taken an Asian Games gold as he defeated current World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia at the Badminton Men's Singles finals at the Asian Games being held in China.

It is a remarkable achievement for the Chinese superstar as this is the only title he is missing. He has already won the Olympics and has been 3 times world champion as well. Lin Dan has been previously ranked number one in the sport and his new victory is something Chinese fans are really rejoicing. Though it seems love overdue, for Lin to actually grab the Asiad gold is a wonderful chapter in his illustrious career.
