MI4 IS COMING!

And yes, finally after long years of waiting the 4th Mission Impossible is coming this year. I'm not gonna be shy in  telling that I am a big MI fan even back from the TV days. And with Tom Cruise back for his role of Ethan Hunt,  I am eager for December when this will be shown. A bit disappointed with MI3 few years back, I hope this one's better.

Here's the official trailer which you can also see in youtube and yahoo movies. "Ghost Protocol" has a kick-ass trailer and a great soundtrack which includes Eminem and Pink's collab "Won't Back Down". Judging from the trailer, I guess this would be a good one.

MOVIE REVIEW: FOREVER AND A DAY

I usually watch local films as long as it is from Star Cinema. I feel that the movie company does quality films and makes watching not a waste of money and time. So, I watched their latest one - "Forever and A Day". I was expecting something that could blow me away like how "Catch Me, I'm In Love" and "In The Name of Love" did to me in the past few months.

While this film has a good storyline, I think it lacked personality. Direk Cathy Garcia Molina did a splendid job again in the directing chops but there was no special magic. The tandem of Sam Milby and KC Concepcion did not have any spark - walang kilig factor. The cinematography was once again breathtaking as you will learn to appreciate Philippines more. But this is supposed to be a love story and I was not much convinced with the sweet scenese. Though I would like to commend that Sam is doing a good job in the acting part as compared to his previosu movies. And KC was a revelation here as she has really turned into a brilliant actress.

This movie is good but not something that is exceptional. 3 out 5 popcorns.

MOVIE REVIEW: GREEN LANTERN

Thor and X-men First Class already made it through and I kinda like both of them so it;s now up to another comic book adaptation to try and hit the mark. This time it is DC's Green Lantern. And while the lantern is no Batman or Superman, it still packed some punch.

Green Lantern is a good movie in terms of storytelling. People who are not familiar with the Green Lantern will have an overview of who he is and how the story actually came about. The focus on the idea of a fealess superhero is attached to it from start but what is nice is that this idea is negated in the movie itself. it show that a hero should not be fearless but someone who feels fear and yet can overcome such situation. What makes this flick different from the other superhero films is is comic timing. There are several scenes where punchlines from the cast are good enough to elicit laughs.

Aside from that, the visuals are good enough but I guess you'll get overload of green but not in a super bad kind of way. Ryan Reynolds is smoking hot and is really tailorfit for this superhero. His scenes where he is on boxers/undies have elicited wows specially from the female and gay audience. So as his love interest in the film Blake Lively who is equally scorching and sexy. While most of the people feel the battle scenes are not that many, I still loved every bit of it.

A 4 out of 5 popcorns.

TRANSFORMERS NEW LADY

With Transformers: Dark of the Moon coming to theaters in a few days time, buzz is again high on the new lady on the robot franchise. We all know that Megan Fox is already out of the franchise and with that a new girl is casted to join.

English model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is the new vamp on Transformers. She has been modeling for years already and notably for Victoria's Secret. Well, she is smoking hot and I'd say the series has now found their new hottie.

MY NEW HAIRSTYLE...

Well, not really. This is just a wig I wore when I did a performance in our departmental meeting last Thursday. Together with 3 other people, we performed as our pop icons Jackson 4. it was fun! More pics to come next. As of now, here's a teaser of how I looked with the curly locks.

FALCON UNLEASHES WRATH IN THE METRO

Metro Manila was once again hit by another bad weather. This time we have felt the wrath of Falcon. There were no heavy winds and typhoon like blows but the rain just kept on pouring like there's no tomorrow. And the rest of Metro Manila was flooded like it was a big swimming pool. I braved to go out last night and check some of the places in Vito Cruz.

Above are some of the pics I have taken. Joining me that night is my ever reliable best friend Chris. Hope the rain would stop already so that things would become normal again. Let us all pray that all people remain safe and that we could continue with our usual day to day activities.

MY WIMBLEDON 2011 WOMEN'S PICKS

The ladies tournament got a boost as the Williams sisters are back in action but their current forms are in question. This means the 3rd slam for the year is again a wide open one.

First Quarter: Maria Sharapova

In a bracket with world no. 1 Caroline Wozniacki, you would think I would side with the top ranked player. But I won't. My bet in here is 5th seeded Maria Sharapova. I fancy her chances in here although I pretty much think Wozniacki could provide a stern test for the Russian in the quarterfinals. But before looking that far, she must hurdle several obstacles beginning with a tricky 2nd round with brit youngster Laura Robson. If she gets past this, Dominika Cibulkova or Julia Goerges will be waiting in the 4th round.

Second Quarter: Sabine Lisicki

I am actually torn on this bracket, Serena Williams is in here but her recent form suggests she might not be able to lift the trophy again at least for this year, that being said my bet is on German Sabine Lisicki, a former top 30 player back in 2009 before injuries sidelined her. And with her record of winning 12 of the last 13 matches in grass, she can certainly do well in Wimbledon. Dark horse for this bracket would be Marion Bartoli of France.

Third Quarter: Victoria Azarenka

This quarter seems poised to spring the biggest suprise of the tournament as anyone on this quarter has equal chances of advancing to the semifinals. There are few however that can have extra confidence that could actually win them matches. Of the girls in here, Vika is the best possible bet not only based on rankings but also on talent on grass. Russian veteran Nadia Petrova could pose the biggest threat to her campaign.

Fourth Quarter: Venus Williams

Venus is my bet on this quarter. Although this seems to be most difficult of all the brackets. Former runner-up Vera Zvonareva is lurking for a possible 4th round that is if the Russian can manage her nerves early on. Other big names who could spoil Venus' return to the semis would be Petra Kvitova, Yanina Wickmayer and Russian veteran Svetlana Kuznetsova. But grass is Venus' best surface and this might be good for her to add another title to her long list of Wimbledons.
