2018 TOP PINOY MALE ATHLETES

The RP male contingent to the Asian Games was not as successful as the ladies but there are still plenty of good male athletes across all fronts in the past year.

1. Carlos Yulo
Caloy has rewritten the Philippine gymnastics history books as he became the first medalist of the country at the World Championships. He finished third which is good enough for a bronze at his pet event Floor Exercise. All eyes are on him as he tries to improve at this year's Worlds and also take several medals at this year's SEA Games.

2. June Mar Fajardo
This pro basketball player and multiple MVP winner continues to shine and rise above the ranks. His inclusion in the national pool is a welcome development for his fans and we hope to see more success from this talented hoopster.

3. Marck Espejo
Men's volleyball is usually on the shadows unlike its ladies counterparts but this former Blue Eagle stand out is slowly changing the norms. He played for  Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler in Japan and has wowed audience from all over.

4. Manny Pacquiao
Last Year: No. 23 (Global)
Manny may have dived into politics but he remains to be the top boxer of the country as of the moment.

5. Trenten Beram
Beram took the athletics world by storm when he grabbed 2 golds at the SEA Games in 2017 and despite not gaining as much success in the Asian Games, we are looking for a bright future for our Athletics team. And with a charming face like his, he has certainly become one of the most googled Pinoy athletes on the past 2 years.

One of the hottest boxers there is, Donnie "Ahas" Nietes keeps the flag up high and continues to make his mark in the world of boxing.

Another RP boxer who is a regular fixture when we say best Filipino athletes is Nonito Donaire. Although his recent showings are a mixed bag, he remains to be one of the most watched Pinoy boxers as of today.

8. Eric Cray
Another athletics gem comes from Eric Cray. This speed ace has made his presence felt at the SEA Games in 2017 and will hope to continue a good showing here in the Philippines as we go into the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019.

9. Kiefer Ravena
Kiefer Ravena's year may have been built around the controversy of his prohibited substance use that led to his 18-month suspension but for sure fans are waiting for his return and we hope that he continues to play well after.

10. Bryan Bagunas
Aside from Espejo, Bryan Bagunas is one of the hottest male volleyball players of the country. This NU standout has helped his school win back to back championships and has taken numerous awards as well in the collegiate ranks.

11. Kai Sotto
Young protege Kai Sotto made heads turn this 2018. His stellar turn into the basketball world makes fans eagerly anticipating for better days to come. At his young age, this 7'1 hoopster has already donned the national colors with his inclusion in the youth divisions on the World Championships.
