Only in the Philippines...
The Senate has once again proven that they are the best circus in town. The latest debacle towards choosing the Senate President is a further proof that the Senate is really divided. Front runners Manny Villar and Francis Pangilinan were both not appointed with the latter bowing out even before the actual voting even started and the former losing to the "surprise" nominee Juan Ponce Enrile.
And so you thought that's the end of it? Nah, you expect more. The different department and division head posts are now the target of everyone's sights. Each senator has an eye for a specific post which means it's a matter of who has the numbers and not who has the ability to head them. In the coming days, expect another round of politicking, backstabbing and more in our Senate.
